How does my child get noticed by college coaches?”

“How do I know if my child is being recruited or not?”

“My child is good enough to play D1… Why is he/she not getting offers?”

These are some of the many questions that thousands of parents ask themselves about their children’s recruiting process, and quite frankly, they want to know answers!

For most parents who experience the world of college recruiting as first-timers, getting through the process can be like navigating through the middle of a forest without a GPS. They have no direction and NO IDEA of what to do or where to turn.

They feel completely lost, try to feel through their way, and become completely FRUSTRATED with the entire recruiting process. Unfortunately, as a former college scout, I have seen the lost faces on parents and student athletes far too many times.

My name is Jamin Elliott. I am a former college athlete, NFL Super Bowl Champion, and former Regional Director of Scouting with one of the nation’s top scouting organizations. As an under-recruited high school athlete, getting the opportunity to attend college and live out my dream of playing college football really CHANGED MY LIFE.

Having the chance to explore the recruiting process as a student-athlete and college scout has given me a unique perspective. As a former scout, I have spoken to and worked with hundreds of families.

After spending time with them, a shocking realization showed that 95% of those families were unaware of what to do concerning the college recruiting process. Over the years, I have seen far too many student-athletes miss out on opportunities because they simply didn’t know what to do or the steps they needed to take.

I KNEW SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE AND FAMILIES NEEDED TO BE EDUCATED!

And now, I have made it my MISSION to educate parents and student-athletes about the college recruiting process, and teach them how to navigate through it confidently.

There is SO much information–and misinformation— out there about college recruiting that makes it difficult for parents to narrow down the most important things. This difficulty will literally give them information overload causing them to become overwhelmed and not know where to turn.

Therefore, I decided to take it BACK TO THE BASICS by coming up with a simple, interactive, step-by-step method to help student-athletes and parents weed through this complex world of college recruiting and get them only to the essential information. I call it the “C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S.” Approach.

It is an easy acronym that guides parents and student athletes through each step of the process. Even though recruiting timelines and rules vary between sports, the BASIC principles remain the same regardless of the sport!

The “Parent’s Step-By Step Guide to Getting Through the College Athletic Recruiting Process” is an interactive guide that:

-Takes the guess work out of the athletic recruiting process,

-Walks you step-by-step through the recruiting process,

-Helps you get noticed by college coaches!

This guide is proven to not only educate you about the college recruiting process but will also put you in the best position possible to be recruited by college coaches! FURTHERMORE, WHO BETTER TO LEARN FROM THAN A FORMER COLLEGE ATHLETE, FORMER COLLEGE SCOUT AND SUPER BOWL CHAMP THAT HAS HELPED OVER 70+ STUDENT-ATHLETES LIVE OUT THEIR DREAM OF PLAYING COLLEGE BALL?!

So many families waste A LOT of time and money & miss opportunities during the recruiting process because they simply don’t have a realistic plan and direction on the way they should go. The information in this guide teaches you how to focus your process to help you target schools that are the BEST FIT for you both academically and athletically.

With the average cost of a college education today ranging anywhere between $30-$40K PER YEAR?! (and not getting any cheaper), understanding the path you need to take in your recruiting process is critical! It will not only save you TIME, but it can also potentially save you a lot of MONEY by connecting with the RIGHT school! WHO DOESN’T WANT TO SAVE TIME & MONEY?

Throughout the guide you may notice that I am pretty straightforward with some of my advice. Please understand that I am speaking from personal experience as a former recruit and college scout. In my opinion, I believe that NOT being completely transparent only hurts a student-athlete in the long run! Hope you guys enjoy the guide! Remember, YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO BE RECRUITED, DON’T WASTE IT!

What athletes and families have to say…

Athlete & Parent Testimonials

“It was a real honor to be able to work with Jamin. Me and my mother had worked so hard to begin my recruitment and nothing seem to worked and I knew I had the talent but coming from a small town and a small school my chances were very slim but Jay reached out to me and we connected from the very beginning, he was like family to me and my mother and would always contact me and check in on me, it was more than just football with him as he was like a brother to me and made the whole process amazing. Before I began my journey with Jay I had 0 offers and as I’m now going to college to play college football I can say I had 2 D1 offers, 4 D2 offers and almost 20 D3 offers, if I had the chance to do my high school career over again, I would’ve began with Jay a lot earlier, this is the best guy for the job no matter what sport or what area.”
“Jamin was an invaluable part of our daughter’s recruiting process.  In addition to broad exposure to schools across the country she benefited from his professional assessment of her skills and candid feedback on opportunities for improvement. Jamin is a true professional who genuinely cared about our daughter’s academic and athletic success.”

” Jamin has an uncanny ability to assess High School athletes, and make sound recommendations as to which direction to go during the recruiting process.  I really wish I would have contacted Jamin earlier in my son’s recruiting process.  I’m sure he would have helped us avoid some of the mistakes we made.  But at the end of it all, Colin committed to a highly selective Division 1 school, and Jamin helped make that happen!  Thanks, Jamin, for all you do, and I know there are many other Student-Athletes that will benefit from your expertise!”
“If you have an athlete who wants to compete at the next level check this guy out. We are blessed our paths crossed and appreciate the help and education he provided along our journey with our son. No regrets!  Thanks Jamin!  You’re the best.  Has it only been a year?? I feel like we’ve known you longer!  #blessed”

“Coach Jay is the ultimate coach you want by your son’s side. Coach’s professionalism and sincerity was present from day one.  He is very knowledgeable of the recruiting process, that has afforded our son an amazing opportunity to play at the next level.  The most touching part of our relationship with Coach was his presence at David’s signing day at his high school. Thank you Coach for making a difference in David’s future! #futureHoya, #Georgetownbound”
Working with Jamin over the past year plus was very helpful in an otherwise very difficult recruiting process. Jamin’s knowledge of the process and of course the game was invaluable and as a result led to my son ultimately signing with a Division 1 football program.”

“Working with Jamin was a breeze. He gave me pointers ever step of the way and was able to answer questions about the recruiting process. Before working with Jamin, I was getting maybe 2-3 looks from colleges. But once I got together with him, I was in contact with upwards of 9 college coaches before making my final decision and signing. All in all a great experience and I recommend Jamin to any athlete looking to make it to the next level.”
“When I was first introduced to my recruiting coach, Jay Elliott, I really hadn’t been in contact with many college coaches or looked at. Once I got set up and he walked me through the whole process, I immediately started to get more emails and texts from college coaches. It felt great to finally get recognized. Being recruited was a process and Coach Elliott was there to help whenever I needed and essentially, he’s the reason I got recruited. I am now about to start my freshman year at Greensboro College to play basketball.”
